Made by hand — kept for years.
A few small habits keep your Kiln Pop pieces bright, food-safe, and full of character. Here's everything we'd tell you across the booth table.
The everyday basics
Unbox gently
Ceramics travel wrapped in plastic-free padding; prints ship flat in a rigid stay-flat mailer. Lift mugs from the base, and slide prints out by their edges.
First wash
Rinse with warm (not hot) water and a drop of mild soap before first use. Skip abrasive scrubbers and bleach — they dull a hand-finished glaze.
Expect character
Tiny dimples, speckles and wandering dots aren't flaws — they're the fingerprint of something made by hand. They won't affect use.
Know your piece

Stoneware mugs & dishes
Wheel-thrown and fired to a hard, food-safe finish. Tough enough for everyday — these are made to be used, not shelved.
Do
Dishwasher-safe on a normal cycle
Microwave-safe for reheating
Stack with a felt pad or cloth between pieces
Skip
- No oven, broiler, or open flame
- Don't shock cold stoneware with boiling water
- Avoid harsh scouring powders

Paper & art prints
Every print is hand-drawn — no AI, no filters — then pulled on recycled stock. Treat them like the little originals they are and the color stays punchy for decades.
Do
Frame behind glass or acrylic
Hang out of direct sunlight
Handle by the edges with clean hands
Skip
- Never let them get wet
- Don't tape or glue the print face
- Avoid humid bathrooms & kitchens

Glaze, color & gloss
Cobalt dots, blush blooms and amber pools are all real, mineral glazes — fired in, not painted on. Treat the surface kindly and the color outlives all of us.
Do
Soft sponge for stuck-on bits
Baking-soda paste for coffee stains
Re-season matte spots with food-safe wax
Skip
- No metal scourers or steel wool
- Skip citrus & oven cleaners
- Don't soak unglazed bases for hours
